Tenants Queensland is looking for a TQ QSTARS Hub Advice Worker to support Queensland renters with practical tenancy advice, information and referral pathways.

This is a rewarding role for someone who cares about social justice, housing stability and helping people navigate difficult situations with confidence and dignity. Working in a high-demand contact centre environment, you will support renters to better understand their rights, work through tenancy issues and connect with the right services when needed.

You will be speaking with people from a wide range of backgrounds, including clients who may be distressed or vulnerable, so strong communication skills, resilience and professionalism are essential.

What you will be doing

  • provide intake and support to renters seeking tenancy advice

  • deliver information and guidance on tenancy-related matters after training

  • help clients identify practical options to resolve housing issues

  • assist with forms, communication and referral pathways

  • connect renters with other services where required

  • maintain accurate records and support quality service delivery

What Tenants Queensland is looking for

  • commitment to social justice and social development

  • understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, Queensland residential tenancy law and housing issues

  • confidence managing a high volume of calls and client enquiries

  • strong verbal and written communication skills

  • ability to work both independently and in a team

  • confidence using computers and records management systems

  • ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds

Highly desirable

  • qualifications in social work, social science, law or similar

  • previous experience in the community services sector
