Culturally Grounded Mentoring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff and Their Managers
$1,500 per participant (ex GST) for the full six-month program
At Indigenous Job Match (IJM), we understand that real inclusion isn’t just about recruitment—it’s about retention, relationships, and respect. That’s why we offer a dedicated six-month mentoring program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and their managers, designed to support culturally safe career development and strengthen workplace cultural capability.
How the Program Works
We provide tailored, confidential mentoring for:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, supporting them to grow confidence, navigate workplace systems, and build a culturally grounded career pathway.
Managers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, helping them understand cultural safety, strengths-based supervision, and how to lead with cultural intelligence.
Joint sessions, to build trust, communication, and shared goals between employee and manager.
Each mentoring pathway is co-designed based on the needs of the participant(s), and guided by our experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mentors with lived and professional experience across diverse sectors.
Program Features
Initial cultural safety check-in to understand the current workplace experience
Monthly one-on-one sessions with both employee and manager
Quarterly joint sessions to align progress and build partnership
Support between sessions, including resources, referrals, and wellbeing check-ins
Confidential cultural feedback loops to raise issues before they escalate
Optional involvement of HR or Reconciliation Champions, where appropriate
Reporting and RAP Alignment
To support your Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) goals, DEIB strategies, and workplace culture initiatives, IJM provides:
A baseline and final report showing shifts in cultural safety, engagement, and confidence (qualitative and quantitative data)
Anonymous themes and insights to inform policy or practice improvements
Documentation that aligns to RAP deliverables, including:
Staff support mechanisms (Reflect & Innovate)
Leadership and capability development
Measures of cultural safety and retention
A customised summary report for internal or external reporting
This isn’t a tick-a-box exercise. This is about walking together, strengthening cultural confidence, and ensuring both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and their leaders feel supported to thrive.
Let’s grow strong, together.
