Indigenous Job Match: A Subsidiary with Purpose
Indigenous Job Match is the first major initiative of Cultural Nexus. Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation exists to create culturally safe systems, spaces, and solutions that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to lead, thrive, and self-determine. We deliver Indigenous-led services and programs that prioritise truth-telling, cultural strength, and systemic transformation. We honour the strength of our ancestors and the potential of our future generations by embedding culture at the centre of everything we do.
Indigenous Job Match is more than just a job platform—it’s a movement. Designed by mob, for mob, it connects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers with employers who demonstrate real, not performative, commitment to cultural safety. Every job ad is vetted with a cultural lens, and we work directly with employers to elevate their game when it comes to inclusion, respect, and representation.
The decision to make IJM a subsidiary of CNIC was intentional. It means that everything we do in employment is grounded in the broader vision of systemic change. It allows us to embed employment outcomes within a cultural governance framework, ensuring integrity, sustainability, and impact. Indigenous Job Match represents the economic empowerment arm of our organisation—it’s how we disrupt from within.

The name Cultural Nexus carries deep meaning. A nexus is a connection point—a central link between people, systems, ideas, and action. For me, Cultural Nexus represents the place where culture meets power, where our ancestral wisdom meets contemporary systems. It is the meeting place where old ways and new ways walk together.
Cultural Nexus is both a gathering ground and a launching pad: a space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to connect, re-centre, and lead. It acknowledges the strength of our cultures while confronting the systems that have failed to serve us. It’s about reclaiming space and reimagining futures. It’s about ensuring culture is not something to be ‘included’—it’s the foundation from which everything grows.
Cultural Nexus is a refusal to fragment our identities. It means bringing our full selves—our stories, our struggles, our strengths—into every table, boardroom, and opportunity. It’s where cultural identity is not a barrier, but our most powerful asset.

“Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation was born from both necessity and deep conviction. To me, it’s not just an organisation—it’s a legacy in motion. It’s my response to generations of systemic exclusion, and my lived experience as a proud Torres Strait Islander man navigating health struggles, workplace inequality, and the sacred responsibility of cultural leadership.
Cultural Nexus is about anchoring ourselves in culture while pushing forward with innovation. It’s the space where First Nations knowledge, resilience, and self-determination are not only recognised but deeply respected—and practically applied. Through Cultural Nexus, I am creating pathways for our people to lead in our own way, in spaces that have too often shut us out or co-opted our voices.
This organisation is the heartbeat of my work—built with integrity, truth-telling, and unapologetic pride. It stands as a culturally grounded, 100% Indigenous-owned and managed entity that refuses to compromise on cultural safety, representation, or justice. It is about empowerment—not just through words, but through tangible outcomes that shift systems.”
— Edward Solien, Founder, Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation

Cultural Nexus is unapologetically for mob. It was established to serve and uplift Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the continent by restoring the cultural, economic, and social capital that has been systematically eroded. Everything we do is underpinned by the principle of self-determination, recognising the diversity of our communities and responding with culturally appropriate, community-led, and values-driven solutions.
Our work is informed by lived experience, governed by cultural protocols, and driven by accountability to our Elders—past, present, and emerging. We honour Country, identity, and kinship as foundational to our practice. Whether it’s governance training, cultural safety reviews, or capacity-building partnerships, CNIC walks alongside mob—not ahead of them, not above them.

Indigenous Job Match: A Platform with Purpose and Cultural Integrity
When it comes to job platforms, SEEK, Indeed, and Jora are household names. They connect people to opportunities across industries, making job searching easier for many Australians. Indigenous Job Match, however, is not just another job board — we’re a purpose-driven platform focused on empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers and connecting them with employers who truly value diversity, inclusion, and cultural respect.
While mainstream platforms provide a generalised approach to recruitment, Indigenous Job Match was built with First Nations people at its heart. We go beyond simply listing jobs. Our platform celebrates cultural heritage, fosters community trust, and ensures candidates and employers come together in meaningful, respectful ways.
What Sets Indigenous Job Match Apart?
Culturally Safe Employment Opportunities
Indigenous Job Match partners only with employers who are committed to creating culturally safe and inclusive workplaces. Employers who post on our platform actively support Reconciliation and demonstrate genuine respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
For Our People, By Our People
Unlike mainstream platforms, Indigenous Job Match understands the lived experiences, aspirations, and unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers. This platform isn’t just about employment; it’s about supporting Indigenous professionals to thrive in roles that celebrate their identity.
Community-Focused Connections
Indigenous Job Match works directly with communities, cultural leaders, and organisations to ensure our platform represents opportunities that truly benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our grassroots approach builds trust, strengthens community ties, and uplifts local talent.
Authentic Pathways to Careers
From entry-level positions to senior leadership roles, Indigenous Job Match curates opportunities that allow candidates to develop skills, contribute their knowledge, and take meaningful steps forward in their careers.
A Platform for Change
Indigenous Job Match is more than a place to find work — it’s a movement toward equity, empowerment, and cultural pride. By supporting Indigenous candidates and organisations committed to diversity, we help drive real change in workplaces across Australia.
Why Employers Choose Indigenous Job Match
Employers who use Indigenous Job Match are not just hiring; they’re building stronger, more inclusive teams. By advertising on our platform, organisations showcase their commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment while gaining access to a talented, motivated pool of candidates.
Employers can:
Promote job opportunities to a dedicated Indigenous audience.
Fulfil Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) goals and diversity strategies.
Foster genuine, long-term connections with First Nations communities.
A Platform that Celebrates Culture and Careers
Indigenous Job Match stands apart because it’s built on cultural understanding, respect, and community empowerment. While platforms like SEEK, Indeed, and Jora are effective tools, they don’t focus on the unique needs, strengths, and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers.
For candidates, Indigenous Job Match offers opportunities that align with their values, cultural identity, and professional goals. For employers, it’s a chance to engage meaningfully with First Nations talent and build workplaces that reflect Australia’s rich cultural diversity.
