Online safety and support
Everyone deserves to look for work with dignity, respect and cultural safety. Tell Indigenous Job Match (IJM) if a job advertisement, contact or part of our service makes you feel unsafe.
Report a safety concern
Email admin@indigenousjobmatch.com.au with the subject Safety concern. You can report racism, bullying, harassment, threats, scams, inappropriate contact, privacy concerns or content that may harm a child.
Include the page or job link, when it happened, a short description and a safe way to contact you. Tell us if a person under 18 is affected or there is an immediate risk. Share only what is needed. Do not email passwords, identity documents, bank details, intimate images or child sexual abuse material.
If someone is in immediate danger, call Triple Zero (000). Email is not an emergency service. You can also find reporting options at eSafety. You do not need to wait for IJM before seeking urgent help.
IJM checks safety reports daily at 6 pm Brisbane time, with backup cover when the lead is unavailable. This inbox is not continuously monitored. Urgent concerns are prioritised when identified.
Young jobseekers
Young people under 18 can register with IJM. Contact for IJM-managed candidate referrals is managed by IJM. Tell our team if you are under 18 so we can discuss suitable support and any consent needed for your circumstances. You can ask a safe, trusted adult to help you.
Some job advertisements link to an employer’s own application site. Applying through an external site takes you into that organisation’s process. Check who will receive your information and contact IJM if you are unsure. A listing does not guarantee that every employer interaction has been checked.
Watch for recruitment scams
Be cautious if someone asks you to pay to secure a job, transfer money, use cryptocurrency, share a password or provide financial or identity documents before you have verified the employer and the reason for the request. Check the organisation using contact details you find independently. Report suspicious listings to IJM. Read Scamwatch’s job scam guidance.
Respect and cultural safety
Use IJM services respectfully. Do not use them for racism, harassment, threats, sexual exploitation, deceptive job offers, discrimination or sharing another person’s private information without permission. Respect cultural knowledge and the wishes of people whose stories or images you use. Let us know about cultural safety concerns.
Your information and choices
Ask IJM who will receive your information before an IJM-managed referral. Avoid putting your home address, full date of birth or identity document numbers in a résumé unless there is a clear, necessary reason. For questions about access, correction, consent or a privacy concern, contact our team. See the IJM Privacy Policy and IJM Service and Safety Terms.
If you are unhappy with how a concern has been handled, reply to IJM and ask for a review. External reporting and complaint options remain available.

Safety implementation report — 17 October 2026
This report records the safeguards checked and changes made to IJM's website and job board on this date. It is an implementation record, not an independent audit or certification of complete legal compliance.
Changes implemented and checked
Automatic approval of new employer and candidate profiles has been switched off. Job listings already required approval.
The existing setting that hides candidate profiles from employers has been retained. General employer access to candidate profiles and resumes remains disabled.
Registration now makes phone numbers, resumes and cultural information optional. An age-band question supports individual follow-up without collecting a full date of birth.
A separate cultural-information consent question has been added. Age-band and consent answers are not configured for display on employer profiles. These answers need staff review; they are not an automated age-verification or consent-capacity assessment.
Candidate signup wording now explains IJM-managed introductions and distinguishes availability for work from permission to disclose information.
Two-factor authentication is enabled for the administrator account checked and required for Job Boardly board team access.
IJM-specific privacy and service terms have been published, covering young jobseekers, cultural information, employer conduct, reporting, review and consumer rights.
Reporting and responsibility
The Founder leads safety response, with a nominated director as backup. IJM has adopted a daily 6 pm check in Brisbane time, including weekends and public holidays. Urgent concerns are prioritised when identified. The inbox is not continuously monitored, so use emergency and external reporting services when needed. Reports should be recorded, assessed, acted on and reviewed, with access limited to those who need the information.
Legal position at the review date
The Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026 was introduced on 15 October 2026 and was before Parliament at this review date. It was not yet an Act. Its proposed main duty would require appropriate action and effective measures to address foreseeable online harms. Commencement depends on passage, Royal Assent and the relevant schedule; there is no fixed commencement date to claim here. Existing online safety, privacy and other applicable obligations still need to be met.
Work still requiring verification
IJM's review remains open for service classification under applicable eSafety codes and standards; legal review of the policies and under-18 arrangements; provider confirmation of age eligibility, data handling and security assurance; and practical testing of reporting, backup cover, consent handling, account deletion and privacy requests. Existing accounts, advertisements, third-party integrations and all other business systems have not been exhaustively audited in this review.
Configuration changes do not by themselves demonstrate that every safeguard works in every situation. IJM will need to keep evidence of staff checks, employer reviews, incident decisions and periodic risk reviews, and update this report when material findings or legal requirements change.
Read the IJM Privacy Policy, IJM Service and Safety Terms and eSafety's current codes and standards information.
