Job Descriptio
As a Clinical Nurse – Child Health (Identified), you’ll play a key leadership role in providing culturally safe, high-quality health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.
This role includes:
Delivering clinical nursing care in child health and development with a culturally safe approach.
Leading play-based programs, community outreach, health promotion, and family-centred care.
Collaborating closely with Elders, cultural liaison teams, and community services to deliver wrap-around care.
Promoting awareness of developmental milestones, immunisation, nutrition, ear and respiratory health, and chronic condition prevention.
Providing leadership, mentoring, and clinical guidance to nursing staff and supporting professional learning across the team.
Requirements
Identified Role: You must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and a postgraduate qualification in Child Health.
Demonstrated knowledge of cultural values and social determinants affecting First Nations health.
Experience delivering community outreach and education to support children aged 0–8.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Valid driver’s licence and required vaccinations (MMR, varicella, pertussis, hep B).
