The Role

As an Indigenous Mentor you will be responsible for providing effective support, mentoring and intervention to Indigenous clients that enables them to successfully participate in education and gain meaningful and sustainable employment. You will work with a number of key stakeholders to provide opportunities for Indigenous clients, taking into account their skills and abilities, as well as their community and cultural needs. In this position, you will also be required to provide on the job support to a youth participant, and assess and address the workplace support needs of each individual to ensure ongoing employment is maintained.

The role will be based at our Noarlunga and Aldinga Sites with the focus on supporting our Indigenous clients within the southern region, therefore a Drivers Licence is essential.

As the Indigenous Mentor you will be able to:

  • Engage and Support Indigenous clients in groups and one-on-one settings

  • Attract and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, with a focus on employment

  • Establish and maintain links with associated and relevant Indigenous support agencies

  • Build and maintain a network of stakeholders to suit the needs of our Indigenous cohort

  • Provide individualised and personalised on-the-job support

  • Provide Indigenous cultural awareness coaching and mentoring sessions

  • Market and promote the Organisations clients and services
