Walking Together: CNIC, IJM and Strong Women Talking Partner for Change

At Cultural Nexus Indigenous Corporation (CNIC) and Indigenous Job Match (IJM), we believe in the power of partnership. True change happens when community-led organisations come together, share strengths, and stand in solidarity. That’s why we are proud to highlight our partnership with Strong Women Talking - Marigurim Mubi Yangu Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders Corporation an organisation making a profound impact in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families.

Who Strong Women Talking Are

Strong Women Talking is a grassroots, Blak-led organisation that works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who have experienced domestic and family violence. Their programs focus on prevention, healing, cultural empowerment, and restoring women’s voices. Guided by culture and lived experience, they create safe spaces for women to share stories, find support, and begin their healing journey. Their vision is simple but powerful: that every woman can stand strong, proud, and free from violence.

How CNIC and IJM Stepped In

When Strong Women Talking needed support to grow their capacity and reach, CNIC and IJM were ready to walk alongside them. Together, we provided:

  • Cultural and Governance Support: Helping refine frameworks that ensure their programs remain Blak-led and accountable to community.

  • Recruitment and Workforce Assistance: Through IJM, we supported Strong Women Talking in finding the right people who are culturally safe, aligned with their values, and committed to the cause.

  • Strategic Guidance: Offering tailored advice and planning to strengthen organisational sustainability, open up new pathways for funding, and showcase their impact.

  • Practical Support: Whether it was preparing policy documentation, shaping strategy, or providing a sounding board for leadership decisions, CNIC and IJM stood ready with both professional expertise and cultural understanding.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Our partnership with Strong Women Talking doesn’t stop here. CNIC and IJM are committed to continuing this journey, ensuring that the organisation has the ongoing support it needs to expand programs, attract resources, and strengthen the voices of women they serve. We know that when women are empowered, families and communities thrive.
